
St. Joseph’s School of Mactan Inc. celebrated its 29th Foundation Day from September 4 to 7 under the theme “Empowering Growth through MATATAG: Celebrating 29 Years of Integrity, Excellence, and Compassion.”
Day 1 began with a motorcade, followed by the official opening of the Foundation Day festivities. In order, the opening launch started with a doxology, the singing of the National Anthem, the opening remarks, the Lighting of the Torch, the Oath of Sportsmanship, the Opening of Games, the Raising of Flags, and at last, the DLBC Palabas.
After the participants finished their stretching and warm-ups, the simultaneous sports began. For the entire afternoon, the participating students engaged in various games, both indoor and outdoor. On the second day, the simultaneous sports resumed, and the respective champions from each game were finally determined.
The third day of the Foundation Week consisted of the Dance Palabas presentations from the JHS-SHS levels, as well as the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals pageant. In the face of numerous creative performances, the Grade 11 triumphed upon claiming the title of the Dance Palabas Champion.
As for the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals pageant, the representatives from each grade level showcased their best efforts in earning the crown. However, only two emerged victorious. The titleholder for Mr. Intramurals 2024 is Mr. Jason James Reyes from Grade 12, whereas the titleholder for Ms. Intramurals 2024 is Ms. Geraldine Marie Giganto from Grade 11.
The Holy Mass that took place on the fourth day of the Foundation Week was held in the Elementary Quadrangle, where every single student gathered to begin the day with the guidance of God’s Word. After this, the Playground Demonstration was presented by the Nursery-Grade 6 pupils, wherein the Grade 6 students hailed the victory.
Following the performance, the Kainang Bayantook place at noon. After lunch, the Sportsfestbetween the parents, TAMS, and alumni unfoldedin their assigned areas. Following this festivity was the awarding of winners in the Elementary Quadrangle.
This 4-day-long celebration allowed the Josephs and Josephines alike to raise their banners of pride in honor of St. Joseph’s School of Mactan’s 29th Foundation Day.
