It is already a tradition to celebrate the United Nations and start the praying of the Holy Rosary every October. But in this school year 2014-2015, we, the Social Studies club, including our moderator Teacher Melissa Ordeneza, gave it a twist with the theme: “International Year of Solidarity for peace with the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.” It was celebrated on the 3rd day of the month of October last 2014. We were all zest and excitement as the program started.

There were a lot of activities happened before the Culmination Day, such as Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, Poster Making and Costume Making. The Activities were participated by selected students from different levels. This provoked the students to become excited on the upcoming culmination.During the Culmination, students were gathered in the MDA. They were there to witness the celebration of the United Nations. It started with a prayer by the YOUFRA club, followed by singing of the National Anthem led by the Filipino Club. And after, the Social Studies Club Mayor gave her opening remarks.
It was a productive day and many were deserving to receive awards. True highlight pf the culmination was the Parade of Costumes made of recycled materials. The activity ended with the closing remarks by our ever dynamic school principal Sr. Agnes V. Labitoria, SFIC –BED Principal. It was truly an unforgettable day, for all the hard work of the student’s preparation finally paid off. Everybody also had fun that day. It was very worth it. The games and tokens were worth winnings. One students even said, “It was totally awesome!” Although some expectations were not met, they still enjoyed it. I can truly say that October 3, 2014 was an unforgettable day.
