“Mercy and Compassion” this was the theme of Pope Francis’ papal visit last January 15-19, 2016 here in the Philippines. The visit called to mind what Jesus did as recounted in the Gospel. In Matthew 9:36, “Jesus after seeing the people, felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.”
Jesus is our shepherd and we are his sheep. In today’s generation, we seek for the mercy and compassion of our shepherd because of our sinful doings. However, a lot of people now a days forgets that our Lord is always there, willing to forgive his people. We often feel down that what we’ve done is already unforgivable. No! it’s a big NO !NO! Our Lord is full of mercy and compassion. We just have to repent and ask for his mercy with full heart and dedication. With him, nothing is unforgivable because he loves us more than our sins. He will forgive us because he loves us.
So we should all remember that the Lord is always there to listen as we repent and forgive us if we truly seek for it.
