Despite the heavy rain and cold wind last January 27-28, 2016, it did not stop the organizers, pilgrims and volunteers from witnessing the first ever International Eucharistic Congress Youth Day held in Cebu. Many people from all around the country and even the world had to travel far just for the said activity and it was totally worth it!

The Youth Day started with the meeting between the foster kids with their foster parents (not literally, though). A Holy Mass took place after that. To spice things up a little bit, the Holy Mass was followed by the barrio fiesta in which the pilgrims, volunteers, guests and VIP’s were able to witness mind-boggling and breathtaking performances. Though the stage was quite slippery, it did not stop the performers from performing their best. Although it was already late, smiles never left the faces of each participant.

To Hoops Dome they go to kick off the second day of the IEC Youth day. Indeed, it was full of fun and excitement as they were not only able to witness amazing performances but they stood witness to the testimonies of the Eucharist that could surely help them as a youth. They were inspired by many talks and group sharing activities. Not only that, they also participated in the pilgrim walk as a symbol of their sacrifice and support for the Eucharist. Though they were tired, it did not stop them from having fun with the Praise & Worship songs.

It may have ended so quickly but rest assured, the youth and all other people who witnessed the said event would surely remember this. It has truly touched their hearts and minds about a lot of things. Of course, this would not be possible without the help from God Almighty who continued to guide them during the event. To God be the Glory!
