Last August 15, 2016, the SJSM held a mass sponsored by the Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils at the MDA (Mater Dei Auditorium) in celebration to the assumption of Mary to Heaven and the Investiture of lectors.

It has been practiced in SJSM to have a rosary before the mass officially begins. When the priest arrived, everyone sang the opening song whole-heartedly. When the homily came, the priest talked about the lessons of the Gospel, he also related the Gospel to a real-life situation. After the homily, it was the time to bless the clothes, candle,  and the bible to be given to the lectors. The priest called the lectors one by one to get their clothes, candle, and bible.

Then , they recited their oath to be faithful to God everytime and to serve the church. The mass was being continued and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The little kiddies, as the mass sponsor, excitedly gave their offerings and come forth to the altar.  At that moment, the priest blessed the bread and the wine and said the blessings, after the blessing, the pupils formed a line to receive the body of Christ. They prayed silently and sang the song. After the communion, the priest called the birthday celebrators of August. All of them walked towards the altar and were being blessed by the priest using the holy water and all the students sang “Happy Birthday” song.  The Mass ended with a blessing by the priest and left the students with the words of God.
